Blue Hibiscus is a four‑story multifamily housing building with 22 one‑bedroom units. The design concept focuses around the ideas of social interaction, sustainability and a connection to the surrounding neighborhood. The fourth story steps back at the north side of the property to provide a generous roof deck, providing space for an edible garden and informal seating areas. The community spaces are located at the fourth level, creating a sense of community both inside and outside of the building through visual connections and adjacencies.
The new building is targeted to comply with LEED Gold standards (low water and energy impact), and features a universal design, so all units are fully accessible. Common area spaces for the residents include a community room with kitchen, computer room, fitness room and laundry room. An on‑site resident manager and a social services office are also included, along with on‑site parking and secured entry
